1. Data Processing
When you enter a VAT identification number on this tool, it is sent directly to the official VIES system of the European Commission for real-time validation. We do not store, log, or transmit your input to any third party besides VIES.
2. No Cookies
This tool uses no cookies, no analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), and no tracking pixels. There is no user profiling or fingerprinting.
3. VIES API
The validation request is made server-side to the EU Commission's VIES REST API (ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies). The VIES system is subject to the EU Commission's own privacy policy. We have no control over the data processed by VIES.
4. No Registration
No account, API key, or personal information is required to use this free validator. The optional API integration via firmafind.at is a separate service with its own terms and privacy policy.
5. Server Logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) may collect standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are not used for tracking or analytics.
6. Your Rights (DSGVO)
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal data we may hold about you. Since we do not collect or store personal data through this tool, there is typically no data to request. For inquiries, contact us via firmafind.at/legal.
